Service Description

Strategic Planning is typically the act of defining the organization's objectives in terms of outcomes, making explicit decisions on options to achieve those outcomes and feeding tactical planning to ensure that the strategy can be executed and the outcomes achieved. This offering includes a fully customizable strategic planning engagement for an organization or a department. During a 1 hour engagement call, we will discuss the inputs and desired outcomes of your strategic planning cycle. Engagements can be consultative or managed and facilitated with pre-planning interviews, strategic planning days and post planning deliverables. There are a variety of approaches based upon intent. This service can be sized for 2-3 days for simple facilitation of a 1 day workshop or 2-5 weeks for a more comprehensive and collaborative approach to gain a better outcome or solve contention such as too many priorities. This initial engagement tends to be a couple hours to define the best approach for each organization. The steps below can be combined into a couple day focused planning retreat, however I advise a break between each to include subject matter experts at key steps in the process, in addition to having time to switch executive mindsets from open to focused at different steps. Essentially, turning your strategy into executable programs, projects, products or operational improvements as appropriate. Refer to the Tactical service offerings for more information. At the end of both Strategic and Execution engagements an outcomes based strategy can be fully traced to tactics and targets, from which an organization can realize benefits. In addition to the activities above, an organization can elect to have a delivered methodology for future use.
