The purpose of this activity (not a meeting, but a span of weeks typically) is to take the outcomes of the Planning day, complete any gaps that were identified and create a deliverable for alignment and communication down through the organization, inclusive of the owners of elements in the strategy; e.g. options/tactics selected. At this phase, assigning ownership of the tactic is important for momentum as well as a rough roadmap of which tactic when. At this point, a recommendation for method of execution should be included - program vs project vs product/service via operational efforts.
Planning and further refinement of the tactic and budget for execution is covered in the Tactical offerings, if further support is needed.
In addition, this phase can be adapted to support an organization that has adopted a continuous approach to planning and execution. e.g. the executive are picking options on business focus and capabilities, not project options for execution.
